During the tour, you will have ample opportunity to watch Alaskan brown bears play and eat in a beautiful river mouth. Your waders will come in handy as your guides lead you through a shallow river, stopping on sandbars and at the water’s edge to take in the views.
Participants must be able to walk up to five miles in four hours and be comfortable navigating uneven surfaces.
Prime bear viewing season in Alaska is Summer. The best bear viewing is from June through Late September during the salmon run.
Homer, Alaska has the best access to wild bear populations along the coast. While Alaska has a lot of bears, there's no better concentration than the area between Lake Clark National Park and Katmai National Park. Famous locations such as Brooks Falls offer guests an unparalleled opportunity to see these incredible animals up-close in their natural environment.
It's virtually guaranteed on our tours. While these Alaskan coastal brown bears are wild animals that roam freely, our experienced guides know the particular spots they frequent day after day and year after year.
The minimum age requirement for these trips is 8 years old.
Destination Alaska has four planes available, ranging from a max of 5 to 9 people.
If a trip gets canceled because the pilots determine it is unsafe to fly, you will receive a 100% refund.
*Please note we are not able to confirm your reservation with Destination Alaska until we receive the weights of each participant and clear it with them. Each plane has a maximum weight capacity that must be taken into consideration when planning these trips.
