Just 5 minutes from downtown Homer, our 8.7 acre property features 7 units that are clustered along the bluff, 550 feet above the ocean. Each unit has an incredible, unobstructed view of Kachemak Bay and the Kenai Mountains.
Whether you’re enjoying a romantic getaway for two or have the whole family in tow, Baycrest offers accommodations that will suit you.
Although our guest homes are all unique, there are a handful of features and amenities that we’re known for:
1. Private hot tubs. Our luxury hot tubs are the best way to relax after a long day of adventuring around Homer. Your unit’s hot tub is for your personal use only; you will not share it with other guests. Plus, they are meticulously cleaned...trust us, you won’t find cleaner hot tubs in town. Yours will be ready to use when you arrive! Please note Crane’s Nest and Coal Bay Cottage do not have hot tubs.
2. Outdoor porches with seating. Each unit has a covered porch with outdoor seating and a natural gas grill because there’s nothing better than barbequing with an ocean view.
3. Comfortable living areas. With clean blankets, leather furniture and an LED flat screen TV, you can enjoy a movie or watch your team play while staying cozy and relaxed.
4. Full Kitchens. Our fully equipped kitchens make it easy to prepare most things that you’d cook at home. They have blenders, seasonings, pots, pans, wine glasses and more!
5. Extra fine craftsmanship. Including side tables, bed frames, and custom curtains, the Boumans (lodge owners) have carefully curated every single feature of Baycrest Lodge’s units, sourcing materials and help from local artisans and tradespeople whenever possible.
6. Fire pits and spacious lawns. At our onsite units (located at 3651 Sterling Hwy), you’ll find large fire pits, stocked with wood. The spacious lawn is ideal for games; bring your own or we can set you up with horseshoes! We’ll also have corn hole starting in 2022. Some guest homes have private fire pits while others are shared. Augustine (located at 3965 Sterling Hwy) has its own lawn and fire pit as well.
Alaskan lodges have great reputations across the board for providing things like unforgettable adventures and stunning views. But we’ll let you in on a little secret: they usually aren’t as clean as you might hope.
The good news is we’re completely different.
Unlike most of our competitors, we wash every quilt and blanket after use. Our new laundry facility has state-of-the-art washers and dryers that are always busy. Seriously, we spend a lot of time there. But it’s worth it because we want you to have peace of mind knowing that your unit is as clean as possible.
Our housekeeping staff is dedicated to doing great work. They often spend 3+ hours on a single unit because they are committed to getting it right. In an effort to make sure our units are sparkling clean, we require a manager to double check them before guests arrive.
To give you an idea of how serious we are about cleaning, just picture the lodge owner, Jen, crouched over a bathtub, scanning it with her iPhone flashlight to make sure there isn’t a spec of dust left. Yep, that’s a pretty normal scene around here.
In addition to our on-site units, we manage 5 other homes that are owned by Homer locals. We were heavily involved in preparing these units to meet Baycrest’s standards. You’ll find the same quality furnishings and amenities (except for hot tubs at Coal Bay Cottage, Stream Hill Suites & Misty Ridge) in each home.
These units can be booked from our website, just like the rest!
Any of our upscale lodging options would make for a memorable and relaxing vacation, quick getaway or business trip! You won’t be able to find anywhere else in Homer with our attention to detail! That, paired with our high cleanliness standards and excellent customer service makes Baycrest Lodge the best place to stay in Alaska.
